Alyssa Reed

Alyssa serves as the executive assistant to Charles Bankart, senior internationalization officer, for International Affairs. She also serves as the Kansas International Educators chair and NAFSA Region II Kansas representative.

Alyssa grew up in Hays. At a young age, she realized her love for interacting with people from other cultures and embracing cross-cultural connections. She joined KU in 2021 working as an international student advisor in International Support Services. Prior to that role, Alyssa worked in other international offices across the state. She also has experience in and a passion for teaching English to adults from refugee and immigrant backgrounds. She attended the U.S. State Department’s Kansas Women’s Leadership Institute at KU in 2014 and fell in love with the KU campus and Lawrence community. When not at work, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her loved ones and volunteering.
