International Jayhawk Festival

About

The Eighth Annual International Jayhawk Festival will return on Wednesday, April 17 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Burge Union. The event is an opportunity for all Jayhawks to celebrate our global community and international engagement. The event will include free t-shirts, food, performances, activities and a study abroad fair. All are welcome. 

Food will be provided by Lucky Seb's Dumpling Bar & Grill, Angeles Panaderia Mexican Restaurant & Bakery, and the Kansas Union. Door prizes include gift cards from Grub Hub, Checkers, Rudy's Pizzeria and the Raven Book Store. 

Student groups or academic units will be present, offering intercultural activities, demonstrations and global trivia. Students can meet with advisors from study abroad, discuss academic programs with area studies representatives and language departments, connect with foreign language clubs, explore international career opportunities and learn about international student organizations.

A highlight will be international performances.

3 p.m. - Mavka, Ukrainian Folk Dance Troupe

3:15 p.m. - KU South Asian Dance Club

3:30 p.m. - Deniz Tozaraydin and Begum Colpan (Turkish Folk Dance)

3:45 p.m. - Sabor a Peru

4 p.m. - Fashion Show

4:30 p.m. - Alexandra Navarro (Honduran Ballad)

4:45 p.m. - KU Lion Dance Team
