ISS Reception Moves to First Floor of Strong
The reception area for International Support Services has moved to Room 126 Strong Hall. The centrally located reception on the first floor provides a spacious, welcoming environment to greet and serve KU’s international student and scholar population. The new location includes flexible meeting spaces for group meetings and events, and small group or one-on-one advising.
Faculty and staff across campus should direct international students and scholars to Room 126 for all ISS services. ISS provides comprehensive support services for international students, including undergraduate admissions, immigration advising and support, and orientation and engagement programming. ISS staff are available Monday through Friday both in person and in virtual formats.
Along with moving offices this month, ISS welcomed Eron Memaj as the new director. Memaj comes from Kent State University, where he served as director of the Office of International Student Affairs for seven years. Interim co-directors of ISS, Joe Potts, assistant vice provost for international innovation and initiatives, and Roberta Pokphanh, assistant vice provost for academics, administration, and diversity, equity, and belonging, have returned to their previous roles in International Affairs.
Memaj is looking forward to connecting with colleagues across campus. He can be reached at ememaj@ku.edu or 785-846-3617.
