Summary of Advice Regarding Presidential Order

  • If you are a KU international student, scholar or employee from the one of the seven countries listed in the Executive Order (Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen,) we recommend that you do not travel outside the U.S.
  • If you are a U.S. permanent resident (green card holder) from one of the seven countries listed, we advise that prior to any travel outside the U.S. you consult with International Programs or an immigration attorney for the most up to date guidance and if at all possible plan to re-enter the U.S. through Boston Logan Airport.
  • Please be advised that all U.S. visa processing abroad may be slower than usual.  Please discuss international travel plans that will require you to obtain a new visa stamp (F-1, J-1, H-1B, O-1, etc.) with your ISS or IP advisor.
  • If you are a U.S. citizen and plan travel to any of the seven countries listed, be advised that visa policies are generally based on reciprocal agreements between countries and you may encounter difficulty in receiving a visa or may encounter a visa revocation.
