The purpose of this research is to examine how the Bank of China will handle China’s transition from an emerging economy to a developed one. This will be done by recounting the history of the Bank of China, examining the current banking industry in China, and investigating the capabilities of the Bank. The highlighted strengths of the Bank of China are its experience and expertise in foreign transactions, its company image as the pride of China, and its ability to focus on long-term goals because of the safety net provided by the state capitalism structure in China.
