Title: “Fullmetal Alchemist” and Christianity

Abstract: My research analyzed the religious themes found in the Japanese comic “Fullmetal Alchemist,” which ran from 2001-2010. The popular series sold over 60 million copies and spawned animated series and movies. It tackled a variety of real-world subjects, including the struggle between science and religion. Perfecting nature and matter, the alchemist touches a fundamental truth of faith, its promise of salvation.
