Queering the Central American Refugee Narrative: Exploring the Factors Contributing to the Migration of LGBT Refugees - The purpose of this research is to identify the factors contributing to the migration of LGBT refugees from Central America’s Northern Triangle to Costa Rica. An increasing number of refugees from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras are claiming asylum in Costa Rica based on persecution as a result of their sexual orientation or gender identity. This research will provide a picture of the reasons LGBT refugees from the Northern Triangle migrate to Costa Rica and the challenges they face in this process.
